Teddy Thompson
Elizabeth Cook

Teddy Thompson’s favorite style, “a pretty melody with a twist,” resonates throughout his songs. A native Englishman who has turned New York City into his home, Thompson moved to the states barely out of his teens and embarked on a career of his own. He embodies a true autobiographical artist in that he doesn’t disguise anything and remarks, “I write exactly what comes to mind. I’m the person I know the best, the one I like the best and hate the best, so I can get right in there.” Unlike his previous disks, Thompson’s new album, Bella, combines learn rock and roll with lush string arrangements on material that is an intriguing blend of both catchy and frank.
“A glow in my soul” is the phrase Elizabeth Cook uses to describe what the mixture of the beauty of writing, recording, giggling, and the like creates for her. Although she has undergone an emotional rollercoaster as an artist, her experiences are what made her latest album, Welder, possible. Welder received rave reviews and was number 23 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 30 Best Albums of 2010. In addition to singing the national anthem before the 2011 Atlanta Braves home opener, Cook has toured all over America, South Korea, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Poland, France, and the UK.
